Another Lib Dem win in Wiltshire

Lib Dems in Wiltshire are celebrating following another election victory with the election of Anne Lock to Corsham Town Council.
The by-election saw the Lib Dems win with over 56% of the vote, with the Conservatives trailing in a poor second place with just 32%.
Conservatives vote to hide their actions

In today's Budget meeting, Conservative Councillors voted to stop their votes being recorded, preventing the public from knowing how their local Councillor has voted.
Lib Dem Group Leader Jon Hubbard said "This unprecedented action to suspend the Council's Standing Orders, and stop recorded votes, removes any responsibility for the actions of individual councillors.
Conservatives say No to 1 hours free parking

Conservative Councillors today voted against the Lib Dem proposal for one hour's free car parking across Wiltshire.
Jon Hubbard said "This year, central government has given Wiltshire approximately £8.

Lib Dem policy on free swimming part-implemented; Wiltshire Council must go further

Wiltshire Liberal Democrats have welcomed the part-implementation of their policy to give free swimming to young people.
The Conservative Administration on Wiltshire Council announced yesterday plans to give free swimming to under-16's during the school holidays at Easter and during the summer, periods covered by a Liberal Democrat Budget Amendment which they voted down just under a year ago.

Conservatives say No to wider consultation on Urchfont Closure

On Monday a Wiltshire Council Committee has challenged the ruling Conservative Administration's decision to sell off Urchfont Manor and end the much valued Adult Education services provided on the premises.
The Committee says that the Conservative Cabinet failed to consult most of the people involved in the Manor, including the Manor's own Management Committee.
